Sentry Doors launches new-look Knowles range of fire doors
07 April 2023
FOLLOWING ON from Sentry Doors’ recent acquisition of the E. & S. W. Knowles Company Ltd, the extensive Knowles product range now sits within the Sentry Doors catalogue of products, affording customers access to a complete range of fully certified fire doors. Sentry Doors has now announced the launch of a new-look Knowles range.

E. & S. W. Knowles Company Ltd will now simply be known as Knowles. The new branding uses familiar elements of the Sentry Doors logo. Production of the Knowles range will take place at Sentry Doors’ 60,000 ft2 facility in Birmingham, where the focus will be on manufacturing specialist timber internal door sets with fire-rated, acoustic and PAS 24 security certification.
The 100-strong production team resident in Birmingham offers bespoke, sector-specific solutions that meet the necessarily exacting requirements of customers in the commercial, healthcare, education and leisure sectors.
Complementary products
The acquisition has added many new complementary products to Sentry Doors’ already well-established range of bespoke timber fire and security door sets, which are designed for applications in the social housing, public sector, commercial and residential markets.
The newly expanded business continues to be headquartered in Doncaster, where Sentry Doors operates an additional 40,000 ft2 facility. This takes the company’s total footprint to 100,000 ft2 across the Birmingham and Doncaster facilities, both of which harbour the latest manufacturing equipment.
Post-acquisition, Sentry Doors has invested £1.2 million to support the expansion of production capabilities in Birmingham. This enables the business to offer a complete end-to-end service and consistent lead and delivery times.
All products are tested and certified to the highest industry standards. In addition, the business is proud to have obtained the official ‘Made in Britain’ stamp. As the only official and protected mark which certifies that a product is ‘Made in Britain’, this quality mark affords customers assurances that Sentry Doors is both a trusted and transparent manufacturer.
Centenary year
The transformation of the brand also coincides with Knowles’ centenary year. This major milestone means that Sentry Doors and Knowles’ combined operations boast over 130 years’ worth of collective experience in manufacturing specialist door sets.
Sentry Doors chief executive Ty Aziz told Fire Safety Matters: “Together, Sentry Doors and Knowles have an incredible manufacturing heritage, while our complementary products and skill sets make us a formidable company. We’re very happy to be marking the Knowles acquisition with a new look and a logo that reflects our shared vision and goals, while in tandem cementing our status as a known and trusted brand.”
Aziz added: “The rebrand marks a key milestone in the growth strategy for our businesses and advances our ambition to be the UK leaders in this sector.”
