Kentec and Mercury Security Distribution “strengthen working relationship”
29 January 2024
KENTEC ELECTRONICS, the manufacturer of life safety solutions, and Mercury Security Distribution (the provider of fire detection technology for businesses) have further strengthened their working relationship. With immediate effect, Mercury Security Distribution becomes a member of the Kentec Authorised Distributors Plus (KAD+) Programme. Indeed, it’s the first Irish organisation to hold this prestigious designation.

For over 25 years, Mercury Security Distribution has provided the Irish market with fire detection and security products and systems, all the while maximising value for its customers.
“We believe customer satisfaction is the key to our success,” asserted Conor O’Donovan, managing director at Mercury Security Distribution. “We strive to provide exceptional service and support for all of our clients. Having already been a Kentec Authorised Distributor for over a year now, taking things to the next level by becoming a KAD+ Programme member means that we will be able to use our technical know-how to help installers and end users benefit from Kentec’s advanced products, among them Taktis and K-Mesh, as well as the company’s conventional, addressable and extinguishant panels.”
The highly respected KAD+ Programme comprises a global network of fire safety specialists and distributors, all of whom are recognised for their expertise when it comes to Kentec’s products and their ability to provide advanced solutions for a diverse array of applications and building types.
This elite group is distinguished by their use of the KAD+ logo. Members also ensure that installers and end users alike have immediate access to the entire Kentec product range thanks to expedited delivery.
Appropriate solutions
Kevin O’Connell, commercial director at Mercury Security Distribution, informed Fire Safety Matters: “We provide solutions and technical support for a diverse range of projects including some of Ireland’s largest and most high-profile buildings. KAD+ status shows our customers that we have the product knowledge and expertise to work with the most sophisticated Kentec systems.”
O’Connell went on to state: “We can provide unparalleled local sales support, technical advice and application expertise. This ensures customers receive the most appropriate and technologically advanced fire safety solutions to suit their particular project needs.”
Mercury Security Distribution’s technical experts have received comprehensive training from Kentec, equipping them with in-depth information regarding the entire product range, including the aforementioned Taktis fire alarm panel and K-Mesh wireless fire detection system. This means life safety equipment installers and end users across Ireland will be able to receive reliable and prompt service and support from Mercury Security Distribution, all underpinned by Kentec’s own extensive knowledge and resources.
Welcoming Mercury Security Distribution to the KAD+ Programme, Johnny Martin (business development manager at Kentec) informed Fire Safety Matters: “I’m delighted that our two organisations have joined forces to drive business growth and set new standards in the industry. Kentec and Mercury Security Distribution share a similar ethos. We both firmly believe that the needs of the customer come first.”
In conclusion, Martin noted: “I’m convinced that businesses across Ireland now have access to the highest levels of fire safety technology and expertise.”
