ESP fire detection blends into Turin’s Choco-Story Museum
08 October 2026
THE MANAGEMENT team at the Choco-Story Museum in Turin needed a fire protection system installed that visitors would never notice. Systems installation expert ELE.CO SRL chose Hochiki’s black ESP devices to provide discreet fire safety across this historic and culturally significant building.

With over 14 locations across the world, the Choco-Story Museum offers personalised and educational experiences on the origins of chocolate for children and adults alike. The Turin-based venue required invisible fire protection so that guided tours could run without disruption, while all building occupants are comprehensively safeguarded in the event of a potential fire.
Erzvin Peza, the owner of ELE.CO SRL, stated: “We have a long-standing relationship with Hochiki Italia, having worked with the business on several projects in various sectors, including at leisure sites. Hochiki’s ESP range met all of the requirements for the project, particularly so in terms of the sensors’ integration with the décor. We specified Hochiki’s range of black products as the ideal solution to blend into the dark ceilings and the dim rooms.”
The ALN-EN – itself Hochiki’s addressable intelligent smoke sensor – is now in use throughout the premises. Its high-performance chamber improves the signal-to-noise ratio, which helps to reduce false alarms (a key requirement throughout the project).
Hochiki’s loop-powered black base sounders have also been installed alongside the CHQ range of I/O modules, which enable the fire detection system to integrate with third party equipment within the building.
Beatrice Cagliero, director of the Choco-Story Museum in Turin, has expressed her satisfaction with the installation. “We’re very satisfied with the installation at Choco-Story in Turn. The whole installation meets all of our requirements, particularly so those regarding the aesthetics of the building. We now have complete protection.”
Indeed, thanks to Hochiki and ELE.CO SRL, the Choco-Story Museum now benefits from bespoke fire protection that complements the location’s aesthetics without compromising visitors’ safety: a solution perfectly suited to an intricate space that’s full of history.
