Cygnus to demonstrate “power of wireless fire detection” at London Build Expo
29 October 2025
CYGNUS – THE developer and manufacturer of wireless fire detection technology – will be exhibiting at London Build 2025 when the construction sector’s largest trade show runs at Olympia from 19-20 November.

The company will be celebrating the two-year anniversary of achieving EN 54 certification for SmartNet (the first fully EN 54-certified and 100% wireless fire detection and alarm system) on Stand M50.
SmartNet is BS 5839-1 compliant and up to 20 times faster to install than wired systems. Installation comes with minimal disruption to buildings and people, significantly reducing the downtime and disturbance to daily operations.
The SmartNet network is built on a combination of radio devices, operating on a patented self-forming, self-healing wireless mesh network with multipath network redundancy using innovative channel-hopping technology, in turn delivering a reliable and robust solution.
Denley Nunn, head of sales at Cygnus, commented: “We’re delighted to be back at London Build. We had a great event last year and we were pleased with the feedback we received about the SmartNet fire detection and alarm system. We’re looking forward to connecting with the industry again, delving deeper into our wireless system and the full range of accessories.”
Scalable solution
SmartNet-Pro offers a scalable solution with the capability for each panel to connect 511 devices and up to 96 zones, with networking of up to five panels, providing a combined solution of over 2,500 devices.
While SmartNet-Pro caters for larger application, SmartNet-100 provides all of the key benefits of SmartNet-Pro in a more cost-effective solution purpose-designed to support a maximum of 100 devices. SmartNet-100 is best suited to small and medium-sized applications where the scalability of the SmartNet-Pro isn’t required.
Accessories range
The Cygnus team will be available at London Build Expo in order to talk through the Cygnus Accessories range, which includes:
Cygnus Configuration Software Tool and Mesh Analyser
Simplifies system set-up and provides complete system visibility, including radio communication paths, signal integrity and diagnostics. Advanced cause and effect functionality can be established through the configurator. It delivers a more efficient installation and commissioning process, ensuring that installers and end users have a robust and stable network from the outset.
Portable Programming Unit
Helps with the planning and deployment of the SmartNet system. The Portable Programming Unit allows installers to deliver firmware and configuration updates to devices on a wireless basis while they’re on-site, making the process faster and more efficient for areas that are hard to access.
Site Survey Kit
Streamlines the planning and deployment of SmartNet fire detection and alarm systems. It allows installers to deploy three bespoke detectors that replicate the mesh network to ensure the suitability of the system for the environment.
Redefining standards
Practising fire safety professionals are invited to visit Cygnus on Stand M50 at London Build and explore how the SmartNet range and its accompanying accessories are redefining the standards of wireless fire detection.
