Apollo Fire Detectors delivers improvements for Loop Calculator 3
16 October 2023
FIRE DETECTION and fire safety solutions developer Apollo Fire Detectors has just announced a host of improvements for Loop Calculator 3, the tool specifically designed for crafting efficient fire detection systems. The latest release incorporates a multitude of customer-driven enhancements aimed at making Apollo fire system design a “more seamless and intuitive” experience.
A standout feature of the upgraded Loop Calculator 3 is its new automatic online update functionality. The application will now regularly scan for available updates and notify users when an update becomes available. This ensures end users are always equipped with the latest features, panel and product catalogue and bug fixes.
To maximise the experience, Apollo highly recommends that all users manually update from the initial Loop Calculator 3 release to enable automatic notifications for future releases.
In response to evolving fire safety requirements, Apollo has introduced several new products to its catalogue, including the addressable door retainer (200N) and the Discovery multi-sensor detector (EN 54-29).
Additionally, new panels such as Advanced Go, Advanced Go+ and Kentec’s Taktis have been introduced, offering advanced capabilities and expanding the options available to system designers. Whether they’re working on a small-scale project or a complex multi-panel installation, these additions provide the necessary flexibility for fire safety professionals to choose the right components for the job.
Simplified device selection
Martin Andrews, fire systems design manager at Pacific Fire & Security, explained: “The new Apollo Loop Calculator makes a huge difference when designing loop loadings. Its complete revamp speeds up navigation and simplifies device selection with dropdown menus and part numbers. You can confidently associate loop loadings with a wide range of panels, while the real-time fault and warning updates are a great feature.”
Andrews went on to comment: “The PDF report generation is perfect for adding to cost sheets and project folders, ensuring quality assurance and delivering on auditing purposes for all future projects.”
This update addresses several bug fixes, including product catalogue and panel catalogue corrections, improved calculation algorithms for bases and remote LEDs and enhanced part number character length to prevent cut-offs.
