Ramtech Electronics enhances site safety for 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games
16 July 2024
GLOBAL WIRELESS solutions provider Ramtech Electronics has announced that its WES3 system has been selected for three key construction projects to support safety ahead of the highly anticipated Olympic and Paralympic Games, which run in Paris from 26 July until 11 August.

Working closely with its regional partner EUROFEU, Ramtech has supplied its EN 54-25 compliant WES3 wireless fire and evacuation system for the Olympic and Paralympic Village, the Adidas Arena and the Aquatics Centre, delivering enhanced worker safety during temporary construction phases.
Complete with medical alert features, WES3 manual Call Points have been installed across the projects, with the three venues encompassing a combined 331,000 m2. In the event of an evacuation episode, an alarm will sound to alert all workers, prioritising their well-being as well as helping to prevent potential disasters. An additional benefit of the system is the multiple language options for the control panel (French among them).
André Marques, sales executive for France at Ramtech, informed Fire Safety Matters: “It’s always hugely exciting to be involved in major events, and the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024 is certainly an incredible opportunity to showcase what Ramtech and WES can provide. This is one of the most prominent projects we have been part of since working in the French market and it’s a proud moment to be able to support the safety and 24/7 monitoring of such an iconic event in the heart of the French capital.”
Venue details
The Olympic and Paralympic Village is scheduled to open on 18 July and will accommodate more than 14,000 athletes and entourage members participating in the Olympic Games, as well as another 8,000 athletes and entourage members for the Paralympic Games.
Meanwhile, the Adidas Arena complex offers more than just a sporting venue, with a real living space of over 3,000 m2. It will host various activities, including catering, sports events, pop-up stores and more, with accessibility for everyone throughout the year, giving this project a high level of importance for the Paris community.
For its part, the Aquatics Centre will host water polo, diving and synchronised swimming competitions before being transformed into a boccia stadium for the Paralympic Games.
Swift installation
Stephane Stoesser, sales manager for France at Ramtech, commented: “We believe Ramtech’s WES3 system is the leading wireless solution in the venue construction sector, including for theatres and sports stadiums. Every event comes with a different set of challenges and requirements, but the versatility of the system, and its wireless nature, means that it works in even the most difficult environments. Quick and easy installation, multiple language options and uninterrupted network coverage makes it the ideal choice.”
Stoesser concluded: “Being chosen for three key venues at Paris 2024 showcases these benefits. It’s a great achievement to see WES3 and Ramtech delivering reliable and innovative fire safety on a global platform.”
