Keraflo “sets new standard” with LPCB-approved fire valves
10 April 2025
THE RECENT update to LPS 1276 (the standard governing tanks for fire sprinkler systems), affirms Keraflo, now requires the use of valves certified to LPS 2083. This marks a significant step forward in enhancing fire protection standards for commercial buildings.

Contractors are now required to install valves that meet this newly formalised benchmark, thereby eliminating the ‘grey area’ that has allowed non-compliant alternatives to slip through the net.
Keraflo’s fire valves, the “first-ever” to achieve Loss Prevention Certification Board accreditation to LPS 2083, are leading the charge. Independently tested to the highest standards, they deliver long-term reliability in critical fire safety systems and are supplied with an industry-first ten-year warranty.
Richard Braid, Keraflo’s managing director, explained: “It’s time for building owners and specifiers alike to reassess their systems. The use of non-compliant products is no longer just a risk. It’s now a liability.”
For fire safety professionals, this is a timely reminder that standards have shifted and product choice now carries serious compliance implications. Keraflo’s valves offer a route to protection that meets today’s tougher requirements.
Water management systems
Founded in Aylesbury back in 1983, Keraflo specialises in water management for commercial and public buildings. As a British manufacturer, the company designs, engineers and manufactures proven water management solutions.
In 1987, Keraflo developed a float valve incorporating the use of ceramic discs in the valves, in turn reducing maintenance and ensuring greater reliability for cold water storage tanks.
The company is synonymous for its smart Tanktronic systems, which are recognised for efficiently managing cold water storage tanks in commercial buildings.
