Hochiki Training Academy course prepares installers for FIREbeam projects
14 July 2026
HOCHIKI EUROPE has added a new course to the Hochiki Training Academy, affording installers, specifiers and distributors alike free access to training on the company’s FIREbeam beam smoke detection range.

The new course covers the fundamentals of beam smoke detection and introduces both products in the range: FIREbeam Xtra, which is Hochiki’s addressable beam smoke detector, and FIREbeam Conex (its conventional equivalent) alongside the accessories available across the range.
Beam detectors are designed for buildings with large and open interiors where point detection would be impractical, including warehouses, Shopping Centres, sports halls, museums, hotel atriums and transport terminals.
Building confidence
By completing the course, installers and specifiers working on these kinds of projects can build their confidence in the range before they need to specify or install it on-site. The course is free to access for anyone who registers with the Training Academy.
The Hochiki Training Academy is a free online learning platform built for anyone working with Hochiki’s products, including installers, distributors, specifiers and facilities teams. Courses are entirely online. Learners can study at their own pace and fit training around their schedule, wherever they happen to be in the world. Each course finishes with an end assessment that leads to certification on completion.
In just a few short years, the Hochiki Training Academy has grown to over 2,000 users and become a recognised and respected training resource for businesses across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and beyond. That growth has been reflected in industry recognition, with the Training Academy named as a finalist for the Training Provider of the Year Award at the Fire & Security Matters Awards and for the Manufacturer/Distributor Training Award at the PSI Premier Awards.
Building block
Martin Green, commercial training and support manager at Hochiki Europe, said: “The FIREbeam course is another building block in the Training Academy’s library. Whether someone is new to our products or has worked with Hochiki for years, the Academy is there to support learning throughout their career, not just at the point of installation or specification.”
Green added: “Due to the fact that learning is entirely self-paced and accessible from anywhere, our customers can build their knowledge in a way that fits around their own working day, no matter where they’re based.”
In conclusion, Green informed Fire Safety Matters: “If you have a project coming up with a large open space, whether that’s a warehouse, an atrium or a sports hall, this course gives you a solid grounding in the FIREbeam range before you start on-site.”
