Installation efficiencies delivered by Comelit-PAC’s wireless fire alarms

05 August 2024

BUILDING UPON the success of its popular LogiFire system, Comelit-PAC’s new range of wireless fire alarm products marks a significant step forward by incorporating the latest technology to enhance fire detection capabilities.

The new wireless devices are specifically designed to address scenarios wherein traditional wired installations may not be feasible. With a focus on ease of installation, they present a streamlined approach to fire alarm system set-up, eliminating the need for extensive cabling and reducing overall project costs.

The new wireless range features both addressable and conventional transceivers, each equipped with cloud and remote monitoring capabilities. This integration allows for real-time oversight of fire safety systems, providing timely alerts and detailed reporting without the traditional delays associated with wired projects.

For their part, the addressable transceivers support up to 32 devices and can be configured with a maximum of five units per panel, thereby ensuring flexibility and scalability. For conventional set-ups, the new range includes a transceiver that can be used as a standalone unit or alongside conventional wired devices.

The addressable transceivers connect directly to the loop with a built-in isolator for added protection. This design enhances the system by providing comprehensive monitoring capabilities, including tamper fault indication, battery status, device health, contamination levels and alarm notifications.

These features are accessible remotely via cloud integration, in turn reducing the reliance on costly waking watch services and further driving down operational expenses.

Positive feedback

Mandy Bowden, fire manager at Comelit-PAC, informed Fire Safety Matters: “We’re thrilled to have received such positive feedback from industry professionals. Our new wireless fire alarm series is designed to offer a seamless solution for a wide range of installation scenarios. We specifically worked to eliminate the need for extensive cabling, in turn speeding up installation processes and reducing costs for our customers.”

Bowden continued: “The advanced cloud integration allows for real-time remote monitoring. We believe this represents a major advancement in our commitment to providing innovative, reliable and economically advantageous fire detection solutions.”

With an operational range of circa 1,500 metres and a battery life spanning up to ten years for detectors and manual Call Points, as well as eight years for sounder beacons, the new wireless devices offer long-term reliability and reduced maintenance needs. Importantly, Comelit-PAC recommends a site survey to optimise the performance of these advanced systems.

Comelit-PAC’s new wireless alarm devices are certified to EN 54-25, EN 54-17 and EN54-18, thereby ensuring that they meet rigorous industry standards for performance and safety.
