C-TEC realises cast iron protection for Haulfryn Care Home
25 November 2024
CAST-PRO INTEGRATED detection and alarm devices from C-TEC have been chosen to protect a highly-regarded care home in Wrexham. Located in the picturesque village of Cymau, the Haulfryn Care Home specialises in mental health and dementia care for the elderly.

Life safety systems installer Allied Fire Alarms & Escapes Ltd was chosen to replace the Haulfryn Care Home’s old fire system with a CAST ZFP system featuring C-TEC’s integrated CAST-PRO devices.
With heat, smoke and carbon monoxide detection plus a tone or voice sounder and a visual alarm device in just one device for fast and easy installation, CAST-PRO represents a real breakthrough in fire alarm technology.
British-built and third party certified to all relevant EN 54 product standards, CAST-PRO uses advanced and patented technology to provide features and algorithms that adapt rapidly to environmental changes such that real fires may be detected on a swifter basis, reduce false alarms reliably and signal true alarm conditions decisively.
John Westerman, managing director of Allied Fire Alarms & Escapes Ltd, said: “CAST-PRO is impressive. The feedback from our engineers has been excellent due to the sheer ease of the installation process. From first fix to second fix, using CAST-PRO has massively decreased installation times and subsequent costs. We were impressed with CAST-PRO’s programming abilities for multi-use scenarios and the form factor of the sounder/VADs being significantly decreased.”
Westerman concluded: “Our client likes the fact that the system’s information is displayed on the ZFP’s touchscreen display. We’re currently investigating the possibility of using C-TEC’s ENVISION cloud-based data software for monitoring weekly tests and false alarms at the property.”
