Chameleon is a multi-path, multi-mesh communication network developed by Global Fire Equipment (GFE) for its range of addressable fire alarm control panels. It provides an extremely resilient infrastructure for the management and interaction between multiple nodes in a single system in a fully redundant token ring configuration. Every node connects directly, dynamically and non-hierarchically to all of the other network nodes.

Boasting point-to-point communication across the entire network, Chameleon can simultaneously use RS422, TCP-IP or multi-mode and mono-mode optical fibre modes across different parts of the network. Each segment of the network is galvanically isolated from all the others, ensuring superior network immunity to electrical interference.
