IIRSM elects new president

06 March 2020

Clive Johnson has been elected President of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (IIRSM).

Johnson was elected by the board at the risk charity's AGM on 3 December 2019. He will hold the post for the next two years.

Clive is a well known advocate of the risk profession, previously group head of health, safety and security at property giant Landsec and now group head of health and safety for Derwent London plc.

Clive takes the reins from outgoing president Andy Hawkes.

Clive said: “A key focus for IIRSM and myself in particular during the next two years will be promoting the benefits of diverse workplaces. Teams that encourage diversity in gender, ethnicity, background and age are better equipped to encourage innovation and make informed business decisions. We’ll be focussing on education to improve mentoring, communication and leadership skills for everyone, which we believe will lead to more productive and happy workplaces.”

Andy Hawkes, chief executive of Cardinus Risk Management, and Ruth Denyer, director of Risk at ITV, were re-elected as Trustees.
