Aerocom addresses sustained growth by expanding UK sales team
17 April 2025
PNEUMATIC TUBE and fire suppression system specialist Aerocom (UK) has hired two new business development managers following a period of sustained growth. The Nottingham-based firm has signed up university graduates Ritika Sabharwal and Dan Lalli to help drive sales across several product sectors and manage the company’s growing customer base.

The business, which celebrates its 25th Anniversary this month, is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of pneumatic tube systems, but has also seen huge growth in sales of its fire suppression devices and automated guided vehicles.
Tom Hughes, managing director of Aerocom (UK), stated: “Our decision a few years ago to diversify our product range beyond pneumatic tube systems has really paid off. The manufacturing, healthcare and logistics sectors are particularly ramping up their employment of robotics systems throughout their operations, so we’ve seen significant growth in the area.”
Hughes continued: “Our Stixx Advanced Pro fire suppression device has proved to be a real game-changer for our business, which has forced us to expand our workforce, including the sales team. As such, I’m delighted to welcome Ritika and Dan and I wish them both every success with Aerocom (UK).”
Range of roles
Ritika Sabharwal (aged 23) studied for her BSc in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Hertfordshire and has spent time working as a biomedical scientist in both the NHS and private pathology laboratories. She has also worked in a range of part-time sales roles, including her family’s own retail business in Birmingham.
Sabharwal said: “Joining Aerocom has been an exciting step for me. It’s a role that allows me to combine my scientific background with my passion for people and communication. I’m particularly excited about the potential of our innovative fire safety solutions to make a real difference in people’s lives.”
After working in tech and software sales in London and studying philosophy at University College London, Dan Lalli (aged 27) has moved back to his home town of Derby to take up his new role at Aerocom (UK).
“It’s a real privilege to be working here,” said Lalli. “Aerocom (UK) is a company known for its impressive portfolio of forward-thinking products and services so I’m very proud to be a part of it.”
Electrical fires
Aerocom (UK) was founded in 2000, primarily as a supplier and installer of pneumatic tube systems. It has since installed hundreds of kilometres of complex PTS networks in well over 100 NHS and private hospitals as well as numerous other industries, from logistics and warehousing to theme pubs.
More recently, the business became the sole UK supplier of a Swedish-invented fire safety device, which is the only one of its kind on the market.
Small, lightweight and easy to install, the MAUS Stixx Advanced Pro is capable of automatically extinguishing electrical fires in seconds before they’ve had a chance to spread.
Suitable for installation in any enclosed electrical space, the device floods the space with a harmless potassium-based smoke when temperatures exceed 170 degrees Celsius. Sales of the device are rocketing thanks to its use growing across multiple sectors, including hospitals, rail networks, office buildings, homes and caravanning.
Thoughtful research
“Our success is the result of thoughtful research into new and upcoming product areas,” concluded Tom Hughes. “We’ve made some very good product decisions up until now and we’re always thinking ahead in terms of diversification. I’m confident Ritika and Dan can bring their own ideas and expertise to the team.”
