Texecom launches its smallest-ever wireless shock sensor
11 September 2019
The new Micro Shock-W is Texecom’s smallest-ever wireless shock sensor. Designed to detect and analyse a forcible shock, it provides early warning of an attempted intrusion before a break-in occurs.

The ultra-miniature design provides discrete yet powerful protection for all windows, doors and walls. An intruder can’t evade what they can’t see.
Simple, fast and easy to set up with a single button, the Micro Shock-W uses Ricochet mesh technology and is compatible with Texecom’s Premier Elite and Premier panels. Utilising a coin cell battery with a three-year life, it has an ultra-slim profile compared with other shock sensors out there, so any concerns about aesthetics can be put aside.
It is the first wireless shock sensor to conform to the new EN50131-2-8 new shock standard that requires all manufacturers to recommend a suitable sensitivity setting for framed glass windows, wood and concrete. To help with this, the sensors are available in white, brown and anthracite grey to match the most popular types of frames: uPVC, wood, concrete and aluminium.
There are five sensitivity settings, ranging from 1 to 5 (5 being the most sensitive). Each click of the button changes the sensitivity, with the flash rate of the blue LED increasing as sensitivity increases. (Texecom recommends a setting of 1 for wood, 2 for framed glass windows and 5 for concrete surfaces).
The sensor uses the company’s Ricochet mesh technology, which enables wireless devices to receive and repeat messages from other devices. Sophisticated ‘accelerometer’ technology also provides a much higher level of accuracy for detecting and communicating vibrations compared to the piezoelectric technology used in most other products.
Key benefits of the Micro Shock-W for installers:
- Simple, fast and easy to set-up with a single button
- Intuitive LED indicator takes you step-by-step through set-up and commissioning
- Unobtrusive and discreet
- Protects windows, doors and walls by alarming at the first indication of an attack
- Low battery warning
- Use it as a repeater - small, discreet and hidden
More information can be found on Texecom’s website. There is also an installation video.
